We haven't fallen off of the earth!

WOW, I didn't realize it had been so long since my last update-that's a tad ridiculous. We have been quite busy around our house as usual. However, the last 2 months have been exceptionally busy-Gracie has been in and out of the hospital 3 times. Bless her sweet heart-she is such a sweet, tough little angel.

Fundraising is going.....wellll.....SLOW! I am not really sure where to go from here, we just keep praying and trusting that it will happen when the time is right. We have had a couple of larger donations made into her acct at our Church-for that we are very grateful. We have no idea who makes what donations, so if it was you-THANK YOU!!!!!

I am selling the new t-shirts still & also still making the crosses. The crosses have had to be put off a little longer than normal since Gracie has been in the hospital so many times, but I am still enjoying making them. :O)

We are still planning on having a golf tournament in the early spring. I also still am going to do a bowling tournament. If you have any other great ideas, please please let me know! I am willing to try to do anything.

We are in such need of the van that we are raising $ for. Gracie gets bigger and heavier every day & I have been without a nurse so much lately that it is taking a toll on my back for sure to get her chair & equipment, etc.... out by myself. For those of you new to this blog-we are raising $ for a full size (it will have to be at least a 12 passenger van) that is either already handicap accessible or can be customized. We have to have such a large seating van, because there are so many of us (7) & generally a nurse with us-so for it to be able to be made accessible we still have to have the seat space as well!

Tax deductible donations can be made to Crosspoint Church, 8000 Liles Lane, Trussville, AL 35173, & must be designated to "Gracie Poole benevolance" 205-655-0365

Please check out Gracie's other website for her health updates-www.caringbridge.org/visit/gracieannpoole

Thanks for reading & we hope you & your family have a very blessed Christmas!!

New info on some upcoming fundraisers

Sorry to be so long updating-but we haven't had any new news going on with the fundraising efforts. We haven't raised anymore $ since the last update. This is very frustrating to me, but I know that the $ will be raised when it is the right time. GOD's timing is perfect, but I just have a hard time being patient when we think we needed the van - yesterday!

We are still selling the wristband-$4 each.

I am also still selling the "crosses 4 Gracie". They are $25 each. I am so excited to say that these are coming out in the October issue of Birmingham Christian Family publication. I am so thrilled to have this opportunity to raise $ for Gracie's fund. I am so greatful to my friend/neighbor Chanel for starting the crosses & for teaching me how to do them to keep the fundraising efforts going. It amazing how we moved in across the street from them just a little over a year ago and they have been such a blessing to our family since we met them. If you want to order one or know anyone who does-please email me. bjaspoole@yahoo.com

We have decided to wait until early spring to do the golf tournament. It is tentatively set to be held at Limestone Springs. I am excited to see what is accomplished through these fundraising efforts. Gracie's story is such a miracle and an inspiration that I hope to reach more people for Christ through her.

I am working on a date to have a bowl-a-thon. I hope this will be mid-late October. I am also excited about this. I think it will be alot of fun. It will be mostly kids probably, but anyone is welcome to bowl. If you are intersted or have kids who would bowl, email me and I will send you the pledge form when I get it finished with it.

I also have a new company that is going to do a new t-shirt with a new design. I loved the van t-shirts, but we are doing a more simple one this time. They are going to be brown with bright green writing. On front they will say "BELIEVE IN MIRACLE" with her life Bible verse underneath-which is Jeremiah 29:11, then on the back her website addresses. These will also be $15 up to XL anything over that size will be $17. Email me if you are interested in buying one of these as well.

Please check out Gracie's website- www.caringbridge.org/visit/gracieannpoole , for updates on how she is doing.

Thanks for you continued concern and prayers for Gracie and our family. We appreciate it.

Still working on fundraisers. Not going so good or at least not as good and fast as i want it to! At this rate it seems like we will never get the van we need. But I will keep praying and keep going the route I am going and whatever happens will happen!

We are still selling t-shirts, wristabands and I am still making crosses. Other events are still being planned. If you want to order a t-shirt, or a cross- email me that info. bjaspoole@yahoo.com I have included a pic of the cross, wristband, and back of the t-shirt (the pic of the front of the shirt has just dissappeared). Of course the cross can be done in any color & with any design, this is just 1 of the one's I have done!

Just wanted to give a quick update to let you know what I am working on.

We are in the beginning stages of planning a gold tournament to be held sometime towards the end of September or beginning of October. This is going to be a huge under-taking, that we can't do alone. I need everyone to dig deep in their brains and let me know of anyone you know who owns there own company, manages a company, etc.. We are going to have to get corporate sponsors. Then if you play golf at all, have anyone in your family who does,- please play with us that day. You don't have to be good at it! HAHA As soon as I have a permanent date set, I will post it on here.

I also talked with someone at Lightening Strikes about organizing the bowl-a-thon. We are going to shoot for the end of August, right after school is back in, for that! We will also need every ones help with that, anyone who has kids and wants to participate. I am trying to make a "pledge" letter now.

When I talked to him though, he gave me several suggestions for fundraisers. 1 of which was a car wash. He mentioned a youth group, ball team or something like that possibly doing that. Any takers on organizing one of those with your church, etc..? Please let me know if so.

We still haven't made too much progress on the funds, but I know it will come in due time.

I am making crosses now that are for sale for $25. This something that my good friend/neighbor started doing for Gracie. She has other commitments and so now I am going to continue making them, I greatly appreciate her doing this for our family, and teaching me how to do the crosses so that I can continue that. If you are interested in having 1, please let me know and feel free to pass around the info. As soon as I can get a picture of 1 I will post it on here so you can see what they look like!

Thanks! Make sure to read Gracie's caringbridge website. www.caringbridge.org/visit/gracieannpoole

YEAH!! Gracie now has an acct set up at church for tax-deductible donations!!!

Hello everyone! Just a quick update with some new info. The fundraiser in GA went well, we thought. Everyone had a blast, including Gracie. I will post some pics to go with this update.

We sent in a 2nd order of t-shirts that should be in by the first of next week. We also have wristbands 4 sale now! They are orange/white swirl and say "wheels 4 gracie"-they are $3 each.

You can now make "tax-deductible" donations to Gracie's cause. Our Church has set up a restricted account for funds for Gracie. I am thrilled about this, I think this will open up new possibilities for the effort. I know it will certainly make a difference as we start going out getting corporate sponsors for the golf tournament that we are planning. You can send checks to Crosspoint Baptist 8000 Liles Lane, Trussville AL 35173 and make sure on your check you write "benevolence for Gracie Poole".

Please send along any ideas you think of for fundraisers. We are making such slow progress, but I think we just have to get this out there and it has to get in the right persons hands & then I think things will move along. If you know of any company owners, media persons, or whoever you think might help out in this quest, please pass along the info. I also have some letters we have typed up to send out to some businesses, I can get you a copy of that letter if you need it for any reason.

We are definitely open to the idea of a used van. We don't think we have to have a brand new van, it's just that it has to be personalized for our family as far as seats, etc.. go. I know the $ amount listed originally may have overwhelmed some people, but if you have done any research ever on how expensive anything to do with handicap accessible equipment is, then you know how much all of this is going to cost. The van is just the beginning of it, as soon as we can get that, we will have to have the ramps built, her chair accessorized, etc.. If you know of anyone who has a full size van for sale, we would be glad to check it out and see the possibilities, however again, we have to have raised the $ before hand or it was be wasted time?

Thanks for your continued prayers for Gracie and for all of her needs!

Fundraiser progress

Hello everyone. Just a quick update on the progress of the fundraising. The t-shirts are in & they are so cute. I am getting together the 2nd order now, if you are 1 of the ones who wanted to wait and order on the 2nd order. The first order was not very successful, I am hoping and praying now that people can actually see us wear them, that we will be able to take more orders.

Brian and I met with the general manager at a local golf course. We are in the process of trying to get a golf tournament set up for the end of September. This is really exciting to me, especially after we met with him and got more details. I cannot do it by myself though, he said I would need at least 3-4 volunteers to help me organize it. So anybody who is reading this and is willing to help me, please let me know. I think this can be really successful if we can get it planned good and get some good sponsors, etc.....

Keith & Cheryl are planning a large "family fun afternoon" on the Saturday before Memorial Day. They haven't named it that--haha--I have since I didn't really know what to call it. They have worked really hard on this and have had some great success with getting some things donated for it, etc....I am really excited to go over there for the weekend and meet all the people, especially the ones in their neighborhood who have taken such an interest in Gracie Ann & helping our family.

I have also left a message with someone at Lightening Strikes in Trussville to set up a date for a "bowl-a-thon". Haven't heard back yet. If anyone of you reading this can pull any strings with them, please-please-please call me or email me and let me know!!

I will update again when I have more info on anything coming up! If you come up with any ideas for a good fundraiser, please let me know I am willing to try anything (within reason-haha), or if you are willing to put a flyer with Gracie's pic & pics of the t-shirts we are selling at your workplace, church, etc.... I would love for you to be able to do that also!

Thanks so much for your help on this journey!

Sorry to take so long to update again, as you can imagine things stay too crazy around here!

I finally turned in the t-shirt order this week. I am anxious to see how they turn out. We turned in an order for 36, which I thought was good considering no-one has seen them yet and still ordered. Once I get them back, I will take a pic and post it on here.

We have made a little progress in the fundraising. Thanks to everyone who has helped out in anyway, you know who you are and you are greatly apprecaited. I have talked to someone about a bowlathon and that is in the works. I am checking on a "bike ride" and a gold tournament and also a Run. If you have any info on any of these events or would like to help organize in any way or if you have another fundraiser idea, please let me know!

Read more updates on Gracie's caringbridge, but we have had setbacks and the need for a van is greater than ever now. www.caringbridge.org/visit/gracieannpoole If you are interested in ordering a t-shirt or multiple t-shirts, I will turn in another in a couple of weeks.

We are trusting that the funds will come through in GOD's timing. Another need is the ramps for our house, but that is another prayer request in itself. I dont' want to go into details about the house, but keep it as an unspoken request when you are praying for Gracie and our family.

Thanks! Have a great weekend!
